Bird Walk AT JOHN BURROUGHS’ WOODCHUCK LODGE w Mark DeDea

Longtime president of the John Burroughs Natural History Society and caretaker of Forsyth Nature Center, Mark DeDea, will lead a bird walk at Woodchuck Lodge on Sunday, September 14th, 2025. PRE-REGISTER with (forsythnature@aol.com) to join this John Burroughs Woodchuck Lodge and the John Burroughs Natural History Society co-sponsored bird walk around this picturesque property and charming farmhouse that was JB’s last home, and the site nearby serves as his final resting place. This area in the western Catskills was also where JB spent his childhood and first gained an appreciation for the natural world. It is an area whose small valleys and rivulets had a similar impact on the trip leader and a place that we hope to visit more regularly in partnership with our sister organization. The birding should be rewarding, too!
